PROJECT BRIEF  |

Spark New Zealand, the country’s largest telecommunications and digital services provider, is set to relocate its Auckland headquarters to 50 Albert Street — a landmark move symbolising the next era of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. Scheduled for completion in 2025, the new Spark HQ will consolidate approximately 1,800 employees into a single, purpose-built environment that reflects Spark’s evolving ways of working and commitment to a greener future.

Located in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, the $650 million development by Mansons TCLM is one of the largest commercial office projects in New Zealand’s history. The building offers over 30,000 sqm of premium office space across 28 levels, designed to foster flexibility, wellbeing, and future-proof operations.

The move to 50 Albert Street represents a significant investment in Spark’s people and future growth, fostering a stronger sense of community and collaboration while reducing the company’s carbon footprint. It’s also a major boost for Auckland’s city centre, helping drive the post-pandemic revitalisation of the CBD with a new generation of vibrant, sustainable workplaces.

Spark’s new Auckland headquarters at 50 Albert Street embodies a contemporary, human-centred aesthetic — refined, functional, and sustainably focused. Architectus designed an open, light-filled environment defined by clean lines, natural textures, and warm, neutral tones that support both collaboration and quiet focus.

Key pieces curated by Unison bring the spaces to life: the Muuto Connect modular sofa creates inviting lounge zones; the Wendelbo Panorama and Collar seating collections offer comfort with sculptural simplicity; and the locally crafted Ripple table adds a tactile, New Zealand-made element to the social areas. Together, these pieces complement the building’s vertical transparency and urban sophistication, delivering a workplace that feels modern, welcoming, and distinctly connected to place.
